The Norton and LifeLock Brands are part of NortonLifeLock Inc. NU also will install and automatically load with the OS, I've used it and its very hard to get it NOT to do so. Personally I've found that with older versions of NU the registry cleaning function, which has been depreciated was only useful back in the days of Windows 7. Some functions are actually using the Windows system calls to perform tasks Windows already uses. My dive on BOTH is, if running a modern OS, the OS performs much of the same functions as NU in any form can do. Once you remove NU 16 for an upgrade you will also find it hard to activate without actually contacting support for assistance. The compelling pro is you have a one time license with NU 16 vice an annual subscription. The con regarding NU 16 is its no longer supported and additions to the OS being used MAY cause it to not function. Maybe on older hardware having limited system resources would be a green check mark. Looking at the list I supposed it would be a simple matter of need for using the software.
